Betting Tip: Czech Republic v Germany

Finding yourself in a desperate situation is often when you will see the true character come through. The Czech Republic need to find some of that because if they lose for the second time in World Cup 2018 qualification against Germany when they meet them again on Friday night, then they aren’t likely going to be booking flights to Russia next summer.

Germany are on cruise control at the top of the group and all of the pressure is sitting on the shoulders of the home side in the one, who need to beat the World Champions, just to try and stay in touch with second place in the group. Germany are 8/15 odds on favourites to win the game at bet365, leaving the home side at a huge 6/1 price.

Czech Republic Form:

The Czech Republic then are in a spot of bother. They have posted a W2 D3 L1 record in their six games in the group so far and trail second placed Northern Ireland by four points. So if the Czech’s lose this and Northern Ireland beat minnows San Marino on Friday, the Czech Republic can wave goodbye pretty much to World Cup 2018 ambitions. So can they pull something special out of the bag? They have only gone W1 D2 at home in the group, so have been very disappointing. They have only scored nine goals in their six games and troubling is that two-thirds of those were in a 6-0 win over San Marino.

Germany Form:

Germany are on fire with six wins from six games and they haven’t missed a beat. They have scored 27 goals and conceded just the one, and that’s how you get qualification won. They can just cruise now to the finish line but they are likely to go and add to their great away record in the group, where they have taken wins over Azerbaijan, Norway and San Marino, scoring at least three goals in each of those games. Thomas Muller has five goals in the qualification group for Die Mannschaft.

Head to Head News:

Germany won 2-1 on their last visit to the Czech Republic, which was back in 2007. The head to head is actually pretty even with Germany holding a W3 L2 record against the Czech’s in their last five meetings. Germany have scored at least two goals in four of those five games though.

Top Betting Tips:

How do you not back Germany to win a game, even when they are on the road against a team desperate for a win? They should be a be able to land the victory in this one because the Czechs have been highly disappointing, especially at home so far in the campaign. It’s worth backing the visitors to go out and win to nil in the fixture.
